- This blog was created in 2010 to support and celebrate the diverse roots music scene in Melbourne. Although no longer in operation, the interviews, photos, music history and live footage will remain online for anyone interested in this unique cultural material. My aim was to create an online platform for blues, roots, country, old-timey, Cajun, folk and roots-based musicians to showcase and discuss their work and ‘broadcast’ their stories to the broader community. I am grateful to all those who contributed their time, knowledge and wonderful stories. There are a number of excellent programs on community radio that support local roots music: Local and Live (Friday 12-2 on 3CR), and others on PBS and 3RRR, yet there is very little published information about Melbourne's roots music scene, online or otherwise.
